Google has always been playful in the gaming field and made a bunch of games that attract users. From small games to big mobile apps, Google made gaming an important part of its ecosystem.
The doodles
Most people know Google’s games collection by its Google Doodles. These are short changes to the Google logo that honor holidays, special occasions, and important people. Some Doodles are games you can play; for example:
Pac-Man Doodle: Marked Pac-Man’s 30th birthday; users could play the classic game right on the search page.
Halloween Doodles: These usually show themes about Halloween; for example, a game that lets you carve a pumpkin.
Google Play Games
With the rise of gaming on mobile devices, Google took its services further by launching Google Play Games. This platform lets users do the following:
Discover and enjoy hundreds of mobile games. Save your game progress and achievements across any of your devices. Compete with your friends through leaderboards. Cloud Gaming: Google Stadia In 2019, Google had come up with a unique kind of service for cloud gaming known as ‘Stadia’. This service helped users to play a really good quality game on different devices without possessing the consoles for it. Although it faced some problems and was eventually shut down early in the year 2023, it was still a good initiative by Google in making its dream of gaming true. Google and AI in Gaming
Integrations into games have been experimented with by Google. DeepMind is one such project that created learning AI to play games that demonstrate new possibilities for game development and player experiences.
